Our History
A Chanced Encounter

Sartoria Haúse, originally known as Men-in-Suits, was founded by creative director Ekole Fonjungo (Clothier, Sartorialist & Artisanologist) in 2005 after a serendipitous encounter at a courthouse in Washington, DC.

While supporting a friend at the courthouse, Ekole—dressed in a brown pinstripe double-breasted Corneliani suit—caught the attention of an attorney who admired his style and requested a similar suit. This inquiry led to Ekole's first business transaction, which sparked a referral-based clothing business. Early growth was constrained by various challenges.

After overcoming these challenges, and also eventually graduating from Design school in 2014, Ekole rebranded Men-in-Suits as Sartoria Haúse in 2015, dedicating the brand to Custom/Tailored/BeSpoke creations. His passion for menswear, exclusive superfine clothes, meticulous attention to "Details", and authentic European craftsmanship now defines Sartoria Haúse.

Sartoria Haúse experienced significant growth before encountering setbacks during the COVID-19 pandemic. Yet, Ekole found opportunity amid adversity—while traveling for work during these years, he was able to expand Sartoria Haúse’s presence in numerous cities in the US and several European business destinations.

Our 3rd and newest showroom in Baltimore’s Downtown Inner Harbor (opened in December 2025) is designed for the Elegant Sartorial experience: curated, quiet, warm, restrained, soft lighting, muted walls that let fabrics speak, and a subtle scent of cedar and pressed wool; with every surface inviting touch and creating an atmosphere of artisanal craft rather than commerce.

Today with clients across major cities in the United States, Europe, The Caribbean, Africa and Middle East, Sartoria Haúse is an ever-expanding global brand, catering to the discerning lady and gentleman.
