About Ekole

Ekole Fonjungo, originally from Tiko, Cameroon, where he completed his education and discovered a profound passion for design during a transformative at-home year (1997) after graduating high school, where he taught himself fashion design sketching, leading to many designs. This passion intensified while he pursued medicine at Spartan Health Sciences Medical School in St. Lucia, where he found himself increasingly drawn to his creativity. Despite excelling academically, his dream of becoming a physician was hindered by residency challenges. Ultimately, he followed his passion for fashion design, enrolling in Baltimore City Community College’s (BCCC) School of Fashion Design, while also enrolled at Howard Community College (HCC) School of Nursing in Columbia, MD. It was at BCCC where he honed his skills in fashion art, patternmaking, and tailoring, and enhanced through seminars at New York's prestigious Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), blending his diverse experiences into a unique design perspective.

After graduating from BCCC in 2014, he then launched the business that he had started 7 years earlier during a chanced encounter at a courthouse in Washington, DC.
