Ekole Fonjungo was born and raised in Tiko, in the South West province of Cameroon, where he completed his early primary education before attending St. Joseph's College, Sasse, for his secondary and high school education. He discovered a profound passion for design early on during a transformative at-home year after graduating high school, self-learning fashion design sketching, leading to many sketches.​ This passion intensified after leaving Cameroon to continue his education abroad.

Using the ample free time he had while out of school, he immersed himself even further into design sketching, eventually creating many designs that he would later bring to life.

While attending Medical School, he found himself increasingly drawn to his passion and creativity, spending time during classes and labs/practicals coming up with and sketching designs, much to his professors' disapproval. Despite excelling academically, his dream of becoming a physician was hindered by a lack of a green card.

​

Ultimately, he followed his creative passion for design, enrolling in Fashion Design School while also attending Nursing School, spending his time going back and forth between clinicals at hospitals and sewing practicals/classes/workshops at Design School. It was at Design School where he focused and honed his skills in Menswear, Apparel technology, Fashion art, Patternmaking, and Tailoring, and constructed his first Suit (Full canvas), Sports Jacket, pants, and Shirt. These skills were further enhanced through additional classes/workshops at NYC's FIT, as well as sartorial training in Italy; thus, blending his diverse experiences into a unique design perspective.

After graduating from Fashion Design School in 2014, he took some time off to develop the business while traveling the world for inspiration before finally launching Sartoria Haúse from Men-In-Suits in 2016, the business that he had started 9 years earlier during a chanced encounter at a courthouse in Washington, DC.

​

Ekole is a member of several associations of Designers, True Bench Tailors, Custom Clothiers, and Retailers. ​

​

In an ever-changing and competitive world of fashion, he stays up to date with current techniques, traditions, and trends in menswear through multiple bi-annual attendances at some of the world's biggest menswear and fashion events in the US and Europe.

​

He calls Tiko home but resides in Baltimore, MD.
